PilotDiscovery exists to make aviation more accessible, understandable, practical, and safety-minded. We create educational content for people entering aviation and for pilots continuing to develop their knowledge and proficiency.
Source standards
When content depends on regulations, certification standards, aeromedical requirements, or safety guidance, we prioritize primary and authoritative sources such as FAA regulations and publications, the Federal Register, Airman Certification Standards, the Aeronautical Information Manual, FAA handbooks, and advisory circulars. Secondary aviation organizations may be used for additional context.
Editorial process
Topics are selected for relevance to pilots and prospective pilots. Regulatory and safety-critical claims are fact-checked against appropriate sources. Articles are edited for clarity and educational usefulness, and material should be updated when important rules, standards, or guidance materially change.
Experience and interpretation
Practical examples and aviation experience may be used to explain concepts, but commentary is not presented as a substitute for regulations, aircraft documentation, instruction from qualified professionals, or individualized aeromedical or legal advice.
